Athletics at BPCC canceled for remainder of spring semester

first_imgAll spring sports will cease practices, individual and team workouts as well as games effective the end of the day Monday, March 16.  The NJCAA has instructed its member institutions that spring sport athletes will be granted a hardship for this season and not be charged with a season of eligibility. With guidance from the Governor’s Office and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, Bossier Parish Community College has decided to cancel both practice and competition for the remainder of the school year for all spring sports — baseball, softball and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. The decision comes in conjunction with preventative measures taken by the National Junior College Athletics Association, Region XIV and campus officials in regard to the spread of COVID-19.
