first_imgGolf Major sponsor of the Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge, The National has presented the official uniforms for teams participating in the event next week. All registered teams will don the shirts when they take on the 18-hole course in Port Moresby on September 21. With the country’s Prime Minister as the patron of the event, the Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge is hosted by the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee annually to raise funds for Team PNG to international sporting events. This year’s event will be held on Friday (September 21) at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club. The company sales and marketing manager Veronica Marshall presented the shirts to PNG Olympic Committee’s commercial manager Tania Mairi Mahuru yesterday at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club. “PNG’s athletes deserve the opportunity to represent their country and The National is happy to contribute to their aspirations through its support of this event,” Marshall said. More than 25 teams have already registered with limited space remaining. Mahuru said the Prime Minister’s Corporate Golf Challenge is the second largest fundraising event of the PNG Olympic Committee and it also relies a lot on the support of corporate organisations, sponsors and partners. Apart from a day of friendly competition and networking, the event also provides opportunity for organisations wishing to advertise on the course.
