KMC ad dept launches app to track illegal hoardings

first_imgKolkata: The Advertisement department of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Thursday launched an app to track the hoardings in the city and prevent setting up of any illegal ones. Member, Mayor-in-Council (Parks & Gardens) Debashis Kumar, who also looks after the Advertisement department, formally unveiled the Tathya Sandhani app.”We will remove all illegal advertisement hoardings in the city. The app has been developed to keep a track of the hoardings right from the civic body headquarters. It will also help us keep in touch with officers doing ground work in this regard,” Kumar said. The civic body is carrying out a census of hoardings in Kolkata, to bring all of them under the ambit of the app. The main monitoring system will be in the chamber of the chief manager, Advertisement. It may be mentioned that illegal hoardings pose a serious threat to the KMC and cause a major dent in its coffer.last_img
