A bet with AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes on this year’s Formula One results will see Virgin founder Richard Branson dress in an AirAsia female flight attendant’s uniform.A spokesperson from Virgin Atlantic confirmed Sir Richard was indeed measured up for his AirAsia uniform, telling e-Travel Blackboard he will be dressing up “at some point in the future”.At the start of the 2010 Formula One season, Sir Richard, who owns the Virgin team, said that should Virgin beat the Fernandes-backed Lotus F1 team, Mr Fernandes “can come and work on one of our airlines as a Virgin stewardess”. Mr Fernandes agreed and issued a challenge in return, which left Sir Richard pondering how “fetching” the AirAsia uniforms were. The dignity of both airline bosses rested on results from yesterday’s Formula One race in Abu Dhabi which capped the end of the season. Despite both teams finishing with a collective zero championship points, Lotus beat Virgin by virtue of having achieved a higher place overall than Sir Richard’s team.According to the Sydney Morning Herald, this is not the first time Sir Richard has been itching to get into a female flight attendant’s uniform, the Virgin founder apparently trying to get Qantas’ then chief executive Geoff Dixon to agree to a similar wager at Virgin Atlantic’s launch of Sydney flights.last_img
